Hello UBS and Happy New Year!
I hope your holidays were happy and gave you the opportunity to connect with friends and family, or disconnect and focus on yourself – whichever you find the most restful.
The last year brought about many changes within the University and our organization, and I expect we will see more change in the year to come as we continue to grow. This year is already off to a busy start as we have announced a couple of changes over the last few days:
- In my email on Friday, January 26, I announced that Angie Schoolar and the Employee Relations team from HRSS are moving to central HR effective February 1. This is an exciting change for the University, as it signals the start of a strategic realignment within central HR that will support a vision of providing an excellent employee experience for our staff. I will miss having Angie on the UBS leadership team, but trust that we will continue our strong, collaborative relationship.
- In my email on Tuesday, January 30, I announced a rebranding of FAS Business Services to University Business Services. This is an exciting change! Our new name better demonstrates that we support units across the University. It will help provide clarity to our clients and unify our unit. The next issue of our newsletter will be the UBS Gazette!
As exciting as change can be, it can also be daunting, and I recognize the tenacity you have all shown. As we continue to evolve, what will not change is my commitment to support you and UBS. The work you do keeps the University running so that the units we support can do their important work. What starts here, truly starts here.
