Compliance: It is crucial that all departments abide by The University of Texas at Austin’s and University of Texas System policies, as well as all state and national laws. UBS manages complex financial, human resources, and information technology transactions and should be seen as a resource for client departments in understanding and following these policies. UBS strives to equitably apply policy, as well as share best practices to ensure transparency and accessibility.
Service: UBS staff are encouraged to constantly adapt and improve processes. Maintaining positive relationships, taking the time to make sure clients are satisfied, and continual process improvement are key in responding to the varied client needs. The Process Improvement work UBS units have undergone explored how to measure customer satisfaction and use those results to enhance their offerings.
Efficiency: Completing work quickly is only a benefit if that work is accurate and compliant. UBS's focus on efficiency revolves around reducing wait times, avoiding duplicate effort and mistakes, and clearly communicating. Starting in 2021, select UBS staff engaged in Lean Six Sigma training and process improvement efforts to gain insight around efficient systems.
