Many of you may know Hariadna (Hari) Lugo as a valued member of the HRSS team! Before making her way to Austin, Hari graduated from Universidad Del Este in Puerto Rico in 2013 and immediately started a HR career in the hospitality industry at the San Juan Marriott. In February 2018, she moved to the US for a new position at the W Austin. One year later, Hari accepted a position with UT as a HR Representative in Housing and Dining. From there, she transferred to HRSS, and was reclassified to HR Coordinator in June 2022.

Hari shared that she enjoys getting to know employees and anticipating their HR needs. She has proven herself adept at using Workday and catching those small details that could easily go unnoticed (e.g. potential overpayments). Not only does Hari have a passion for customer-focused work, she also enjoys analytics and recently achieved a master’s degree in Information Technology! Hari is putting her HR knowledge and IT skills to work through collaboration with Facilities Service, analyzing recruiting and hiring data.

When asked what she would like others to know about her, Hari shared that she loves to salsa dance. In fact, Hari and her husband met through salsa dancing. She also shared that she has two dogs—Babi (Chiweenie and resident troublemaker) and Cookie (Minature Daschund and house protector).

Thank you, Hari, for all your contributions to HRSS and FBS! You are an extremely valued member of the team.
