Chris Rivera is a Business Analyst who has been with the TRECS team since 2010. He considers himself a “Jack of all Trades” when it comes to location information services. Chris primarily collects different types of field data for the purpose of updating and improving online campus maps! Chris knows our campus inside and out, both above and underground. Recently, Chris taught himself LIDAR technology – which makes 3D models – and used it to recreate UT’s tunnel system! The larger project goal is to make a “digital twin” of the university.
One of Chris’ favorite parts of his job is being able to get outside on the beautiful UT campus. However, he also loves spending time with his wife of nearly 4 years. They were married shortly before the pandemic began, and have been spending their time together going camping, birding, and generally enjoying wildlife. Chris has even gotten into photography for his adventures! A notable place he’s traveled to recently is Arkansas because they have many national forests and affordable primitive camping sites. Chris is also a movie buff and enjoys watching movies - Horror, 80’s classics, Shawshank Redemption, and Fight Club.
