Benjamin Pollard started with the university over 20 years ago in ITS as a cable technician and installer. Over time, he was promoted to crew leader, supervisor, and now he is the IT Manger for the Cable and Construction group. In his current role, Benjamin manages 2 different groups with about 22 employees total. During the pandemic, Benjamin’s team continued working on campus to implement solutions for the challenges at the time, including installing additional wi-fi outdoors on campus. The goal for his team is to become more efficient, provide great services, and be responsive to customers. What a match to the FBS Values of Service and Efficiency! Benjamin enjoys working at UT because he learns something new every day, meets new people, and builds connections with teammates.
Benjamin has a wife and 2 children, and he is expecting his second grandchild soon! In his free time, Benjamin enjoys woodworking and making art pieces. He also likes to cook, and can make Filipino-Mexican fusion dishes that are inspired by the cultures in his household. Sounds delicious!
